Sonya Herrera joined the Law Offices of Ryan Henry, PLLC as an associate attorney in April 2019.
Previously, Sonya practiced law as a criminal defense attorney with a firm in Austin, Texas, where she represented clients accused of misdemeanor and felony offenses.
She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2011 whth a Bachelor of Arts in English and a certification in business from the UT McCombs School of Business. She earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law in December 2015. While in law school, Sonya represented Texas Tech Law as a brief writer for two national advocacy teams. She also served as an active member of the Board of Barristers. During her third year of school, Sonya represented indigent defendants as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic.
Sonya is a San Antonio native. In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends and family, watching and supporting the San Antonio Spurs and Liverpool Football Club, and trying new restaurants.
